Important painting depicted working horses in a rare atmosphere . Immersed in a peculiar light with the violet earth, the clouds hiding the rising sun in places are emphasized by the vigorous brushstrokes that also enhance the slow and tiring working in the fields.

Julius Von Blass (1845-1923) was an italian painter born at Albano, Italy, devoted himself principally to equestrian subjects , he traveled to Rome where he painted country scenes.Then he went to Austria where he became famous at the court of Vienna. Our work was created to be shown in a major exhibition in Venice.

Oil on canvas cm 85 x 128, with the original gilded frame cm 110 x 153.
